Peter Hedley developed an interest in the drums at the age of three, when he watched Sam Kelly, the drummer in his dad’s blues band, from the side of the stage. He immediately picked up a set of drumsticks, hitting everything in sight. He got his first drum kit aged four, by the age of six he was appearing with his dad’s band, and at aged ten he had his first residency in London.
Over the next 25 years, Pete toured much of Europe and Scandinavia, and shared stages with notable musicians and bands including Eric Clapton, Paul Jones, Eric Bibb, Pee Wee Ellis, Never the Bride and Eugene Hideaway Bridges.
Pete has over a decade of teaching experience across a variety of settings, including private one-to-one tuition, groups, workshops and masterclasses. His approach is informed by his own study with great drum tutors including Pete Cater and Darren Ashford.
Pete is a full-time drummer for Californian roots blues singer-songwriter, Guy Tortora, and can currently be found performing regularly with Chuck Berry tribute act, Earl Jackson, and Michael Jackson tribute act, Forever Jackson.
