Lessons Overview

Mini Musicians is a lively and interactive class where young children explore the world of music through singing, movement, rhythm games, and playful storytelling. Each session helps children develop an understanding of pulse, pitch, rhythm, and dynamics, while also being introduced to the piano in a fun and imaginative way.

Using age-appropriate methods inspired by the Kodály approach, children learn musical concepts through singing and movement first, building a strong foundation before playing instruments. Classes also include hands-on exploration with percussion instruments, encouraging creativity and active listening.

Our approach makes learning music memorable and enjoyable, with activities designed to strengthen confidence, communication, and creativity. The program is perfect for young children who may later choose to learn a musical instrument, giving them a solid and playful start to their musical journey.

Every week brings new songs and activities, ensuring that children leave each class excited, inspired, and ready to explore more.

    What You'll Learn

The main goal of ‘Mini Musicians’ is to be fun, exciting and inspiring. By taking part in musical activities with other children, such as action songs, singing games and listening exercises, your child will develop a basic understanding of musical concepts including pitch, melody & rhythm patterns. They’ll also be introduced to instruments including the piano and various members of the percussion family, and will take part regularly in singing.

    End of Term Gigs

In addition to lessons, HCM Mini Musicians students are invited to participate in our end-of-term gigs and showcases. These events offer invaluable experience performing live in front of an audience, helping students build confidence, as well as being a great opportunity for friends and family to see the progress made throughout term.
